Crewsaver, a brand of global Survival Technology solutions provider Survitec, has joined with SailGP, the purpose-driven global sailing championship, as its official on-water safety equipment partner.
For the next three seasons, Crewsaver will be providing Survival Technology equipment - including lifejackets from its Fusion 3D range - across SailGP’s extensive technical teams, race management and VIP guests. Crewsaver’s award-winning lifejacket portfolio is known for its innovative design and safety features and the partnership with SailGP will protect officials working and spectating at these sailing events.
As part of the safety partnership, Crewsaver is supplying its well-known Crewfit 165N Sport lifejacket and its United States Coast Guard (USCG) approved counterpart, the Crewfit 35 Sport. Both lifejackets are tailored for comfort and have integral safety features to protect the wearers when on the water whilst keeping them unhindered and comfortable. The bladder shape works to turn the wearer onto their back in water, even when unconscious and supports the head to help keep the user’s airway clear of the water.
David Duffin, General Manager – Crewsaver, said, “From the provision of lifejackets and marker buoys to lifejacket servicing, we will be partnering with SailGP across its global, high performance sporting events for seasons 3, 4 and 5. Being appointed as SailGP’s trusted on-water safety equipment provider underpins our commitment to raising lifejacket safety awareness to help protect lives. Our performance safety equipment offers comfort and functionality without restriction, and we look forward to following as the participating teams race around some of the world’s most iconic locations.”
Julien Di Biase, Chief Operating Officer, SailGP, said, “Safety is of primary importance for our events, and at SailGP we always set the highest of safety standards as well as offering the most exciting racing on-water to our fans. We are delighted to have found a like-minded partner in global Survival Technology solutions provider Survitec and its leading lifejacket brand, Crewsaver.”
A brand with over 60 years’ experience in Survival Technology equipment design and manufacture, Crewsaver’s solutions are extensive and include lifejackets, buoyancy aids, liferafts, performance clothing and man overboard recovery. Crewsaver’s lifejackets incorporate Fusion 3D technology that moulds to the wearer’s body and is compact and lightweight. The lifejackets sit off the neck giving sailors total freedom of movement and ensuring they are comfortable even in the most challenging but thrilling environments, without compromising on safety.
The countdown is on to the next SailGP event at Chicago’s Navy Pier for the United States Sail Grand Prix on June 18 and 19, following the opening event in Bermuda. From there the purpose-driven global championship moves on to the UK and other event locations such as Dubai and Singapore, where ten rival national teams from Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland and the US will race across three continents, culminating in the final in San Francisco in May 2023.
