Yak has been making products for the Paddlesports market for over 30 years, starting with neoprene spray decks for the whitewater kayaking market. Crewsaver were making the decks for Yak and acquired the Yak brand in the early 1990s. They were already using their expertise to produce a range of kayak and canoe buoyancy aids and the Yak brand was a perfect fit. The Yak portfolio soon included clothing and accessories and became recognised for offering excellent quality at a competitive price.

The advent of the SUP allowed Yak to further develop their range and use the shared Design team at Crewsaver’s Gosport base to push what is possible in terms of comfort, features and durability, whilst always trying to offer excellent value.
